College, Princeton University, Smith, Williams College achieved top positions in the ranking of the best U.S. universities 2010. With this achievement the Williams College has left Yale and Harvard. Williams College is located in Massachusetts. The roster for the ranking has been assembled by Forbes.com and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity (CCAP) in Washington DC
Currently around 2200 students are enrolled at Williams College. Williams College Princeton and Amherst past precedent, which came in second and third respectively in the ranking list.
Meanwhile, William Wagner said: “It’s always gratifying to be ranked among the top institutions in the county.” He is the dean of the faculty at Williams College.
The list of the top five was occupied by the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and MIT. Harvard is placed at number eight, while Yale got into the top 10.
The criteria used to rank the universities takes into consideration the cost of tuition, salaries of graduates and students’ experiences, Rhodes scholarship winners and Nobel Prize winners, along with many other combinations.
Meanwhile, the deputy director at Forbes, David EWALT, said: “Universities that students do not pay a lot of debts and places with small senior classes.”
U.S. Best Colleges report by Forbes magazine and CCAP has taken into account only nine percent of 6,600 accredited institutions.
Williams College was established in 1793. Its creation was granted by the estate of Ephraim Williams. Williams College is one of the oldest educational institutions in the U.S.. In the beginning was the college for men only. Co-education at Williams College began in 1970.
