Obama Shirtless, Recalling the uproar that occurred the last time that President Barack Obama was photographed shirtless in a bathing suit – the White House took steps to prevent a recurrence. While Obama and daughter Sasha took a bath in the waters near Panama City Beach this past weekend, led the White House press photographers in a hotel, Jeremy New York Times reports’ W. Peters.

But photographers and reporters traveling with the president over the weekend were angry to learn that they had been excluded from documentation swimming Obama, who had become a politicized issue by the BP oil spill. By opting into the water, the president was making a symbolic gesture that the waters of the Gulf of Mexico were in fact safe for recreational use.
